In yesterday’s “New Year’s Holiday Bonus: Did You Know Dreams Come in Different Sizes?” I challenged you to start the new year with big dreams. Today, I want to share with you my big dream for 2021.
I’ve had a number of different dreams during my life, but only one has remained constant throughout—the dream to become a published author and make a living writing. It hasn’t always been front and center, but it’s always been there.
Several years ago, I buckled down and got serious about attaining this goal. To that end, I sit at my laptop every day and write. Some days are better than others, but that’s to be expected. The main thing is I write every day.
While writing is the main part of my dream—after all, you can’t make a living writing, if you don’t write—it’s only the first step.
In 2020, I took the next step, establishing a social medial presence. I created an author’s website and Facebook page, and began writing and posting my weekly Did You Know? blog. Now, as I work to build an audience, I’m ready to take another step down the road to becoming a published author—I’m querying agents.
Signing with a good agent is my #1 big dream for 2021.
