What’s your favorite Christmas present? Is there one that’s meant more to you than any other?
Thinking back over a lifetime of Christmas gifts, several special ones jump to mind. I’ll never forget the year I received my first tape recorder or the year I got my first camera. I sure won’t forget the year my sisters and I got a horse. (He lived in our backyard before we moved him to the pasture at my grandmother’s house. Best two weeks ever!)
But while these were wonderful, and were my favorite at the time, as an adult, I realize there’s only one gift that holds the designation of being my all-time favorite. It’s actually a gift my parents continue to give our family throughout the year, year after year. And one I use every day.
The gift of laughter.
The old saying, “laughter is the best medicine,” is true, and, as the old Mastercard commercials used to say, it’s “priceless.”
Great post!!! I love it! And it’s so true!!!
Thanks, Talitha.
Well, I know enough of your family to know that laughter is definitely a big part…and that is a good thing! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks, Barbara. I know laughter is also a big part of your life. Merry Christmas to you, too.
